Inthe rainy season late December through February the seastate between Bali and Lombok can be poor. In July/August the Winds often pickup blowing down from Java. This can cause rough seas. I remember one year that fastboats to Gili were cancelled for 4 days. Nusa Lembongan services cancelled for a day.
